Rio Arriba Grants Summaries from the Land Grant Database Project

The Center for Land Grant Studies, with funding from Rio Arriba County, the New Mexico State Archives, and the Chamiza Foundation, is developing a database of all New Mexico land grants. The initial version will list basic information on each grant including primary source references. Later versions, if additional funding is secured, may include summaries of each grant, links to scans of original grant documents, translations if available, maps and other resources. When funding allows, the database will be posted on the Internet at www.southwestbooks.org & www.rioarribanm.com and issued as a CD for both Windows & Macintosh. A printed manual and bibliography will be available to assist users of the database. Database design is by Robin Collier and Malcolm Ebright. Researchers include Robin Collier, Denise Damico, Malcolm Ebright, Rick Hendricks, Norman Martinez, Kay Matthews, Richard Salazar, and Mark Schiller. Additional resources for the project are being provided by the New Mexico State Archives.

Grants A-J | Grants L-R | Grants S-Z | Explanation of Types of Grants

This is a work in progress.

These are just the first listing of grants summaries from Rio Arriba County and will be updated during the project, as source documents for each grant are rechecked and more information added. Once the Rio Arriba grants are completed, we will continue adding summaries for other counties.
